Retired and locally called "The Pucklechurch Painter" (living in the village of Pucklechurch near Bath) I paint exclusively in oils and weather permitting much of the works are done plein air. I paint Landscapes and townscapes if there is something in the scene and light that attracts me.
I usually paint on site using what is called a pochade box to hold the painting paraphernalia and support for the canvas. Outdoor painting is, in my opinion, necessary to capture the real essence of the scene. I will always be grateful to another Professional Artist; Arthur Reed fromTavistock in Devon for his support in my early days of painting. I’m a prize winning artist with exhibitions in the towns of Chippenham & Corsham - Wiltshire.
